My Story
Over the past year, I’ve been fighting Stage 4 Melanoma. It started in my back, spread to my left groin, and eventually made its way to my right lung. I received T-VEC injections to treat the cancer in my groin, and thankfully, they were incredibly successful. I then underwent immunotherapy through IV treatments, followed by oral medication.
On July 27, 2026, I underwent major surgery to remove a large portion of my right lung, along with the tumor, multiple lymph nodes, and part of my chest wall. There is so much more to this story, but through every step of this journey, I’ve been incredibly grateful for the doctors, nurses, researchers, and entire team at Allegheny Health Network who have been fighting alongside me.
The research and treatments AHN has been working on to help patients like me are absolutely fascinating. The advancements in cancer treatment are incredible, and I want to do everything I can to support that work so they can continue discovering better treatments, saving lives, and hopefully one day making cancer a thing of the past.
My journey is far from over, but I’m determined to keep fighting and to use my experience to help others. If my story can encourage even one person to keep fighting, ask questions, seek treatment, or know that they aren’t alone, then sharing it's worth it.
